The Neenah Animal Shelter (NAS) has been providing lifesaving services to the people and animals of Neenah and its surrounding communities since 1962. The NAS shelter building, however, has become woefully inadequate, inefficient and outdated. We have reached the point where repairs are nothing but temporary fixes, diverting resources away from caring for the animals and helping the community. The most fiscally and organizationally responsible solution to ensure that NAS continues to be a vital resource for our community is to build a new facility, AND IT'S HERE!!!
The new facility ensures NAS can provide the resources to expand as the needs of our community increase.

The vision has been turned into a reality! The keys were turned over to NAS this past week, with the official ribbon cutting June 28th.
We could not have done this without you! The official move will be in mid-July: stay tuned for volunteer requests to help! We were so happy to celebrate this day with so many of you!

NAS began its capital campaign planning in 2019 with a feasibility study. In January 2020, a capital campaign committee formed, and that September the quiet phase of the campaign was launched. To date, more than $1.9 million has been raised and a 3.5-acre land parcel donated.
The new shelter building will include space for increased community services including educational programs, training classes and low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinics. It will also feature an energy-efficient, state-of-the-art ventilation system to ensure animals are provided a safe, comfortable environment that minimizes stress, reduces illness and decreases length of stay. |
